A
NOTE FROM OUR TEAM |
|
|
Blank paper,
sharpened pencils, colorful backpacks...it’s a new school year,
and with it comes new opportunities. There’s a lot new at F4K, too—new
companies, new schools, even new career profiles. What hasn’t changed is informing students,
equipping educators, and connecting employers. Read below to see what
we’ve been up to over the summer and what new things are in store!
Thank you for your support,
-the F4K Team

JUST BUSINESS AS USUAL |

With
F4K, students aren’t just exploring options for careers,
they’re exploring options for their futures. That’s why
it’s so important for the students to connect with
employers and see who they might be working for one day.
Employers have the opportunity to communicate with
students interested in their industry and share any
work-based learning opportunities they may offer.
We would like to welcome some of the new
employers represented on F4K—the North Carolina Theatre,
AT&T, the US Navy, the Town of Morrisville, and John
Deere dealers East Coast Equipment, James River
Equipment and Quality Equipment.

WHISTLES, BRACES AND MIKES? |
|
 |
|
What do whistles,
braces, and microphones have in common? They’re all associated with some
of our new Occupational Profiles. We’re always working to add new
options for students, so we’re always looking for new Career Coaches
with whom the students can talk.
Some of our newest careers are Sports Official, Orthodontist
and Singer. Have any experience in one of these areas, or know
someone who does? Add it to your profile or sign up as a Career Coach
now, for these and all our 552 careers, and take a few minutes a
week to be an e-mentor for our future workforce.

TOOLS
OF THE TRADE |
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
As educators are taking on more responsibilities, for more students, and
with fewer resources, F4K continues to equip them with tools to increase
their efficiency and the students’ productivity. Here is what one of our
educators had to say about F4K:
|
“I have
promoted F4K vigorously in our school. Thank you for such a
meaningful, well-supported, versatile, user-friendly software
that is able to redirect and change lives.” |

Over at
LEARN NC’s blog,
Instructify, Nick Yingling has been sharing the benefits of F4K with
educators as well.
…For a more
positive and proactive take on things, head on over to
Futures for Kids. F4K, as I like to call it, is a nonprofit that helps
students explore careers that incorporate their interests and skill set,
then hooks them up with a pre-screened career coach for mentoring and
advice. The success of the F4K program hinges on students being able to
connect to real people and companies.
