 WHEN I GROW UP...

Wilson’s Mills Elementary School in Johnston County shows us it’s never too early to get kids thinking about their future…Guidance Counselor Christina Allen orchestrates a 5th Grade Career Day and uses F4K to help the students prepare and get the most out of their day.

"Our 5th Grade Career Day is Friday, March 13th from 9:00 to 11:00. The students have used Futures for Kids to find their interests and research different jobs. On Friday they will meet 9 to 10 different people with different careers and ask them questions about the jobs as well as listen to the speakers. Our goal is to let these students know that choices they make as early as middle school can help (or hurt) their future careers. We have found F4K a very good site for our students."

Nan Alberti, Technology Coordinator
Wilson's Mills Elementary—Johnston County Schools

 CURE FOR WRITER'S BLOCK?

Have a cure for writer’s block? You can help Austin figure out how to make a living as a writer.  Or maybe you can help Lindsey understand the difference between a paramedic and an EMT, or chat with Alex about the benefits of public vs. private sector work as an aerospace engineer.

We’re looking for Paramedics, Aerospace Engineers and Writers of all stripes with a passion for their field and an interest in sharing that with equally passionate students. Click here to sign up as a Career Coach (for any of our 546 career areas) and take a few minutes a week to be an e-mentor for our future workforce!

 SPECIAL THANKS

We would like to recognize Progress Energy for their $15,000 donation that makes it possible for F4K to continue expanding across North Carolina, connecting students with real
people and businesses in their area regardless of location. Thank you!
