If you’ve got a high schooler, you need to know.
If you’re in business, you can get involved.
Please read on for the 411, and thank you

What is the
North Carolina Graduation Project?

Beginning with the class of 2010, students who
wish to graduate from a North Carolina public
high school must complete a graduation project.
The
North Carolina Graduation Project includes
four components: a research paper, a product, a
portfolio and an oral presentation.
State Superintendent June Atkinson stated, “This
process will involve students, schools, parents
and communities...[and] is an opportunity for
students to spend
extended time delving into a topic for which
they have a particular interest and
passion.”
|
|
|
How does it affect you?
One
aspect of the project is to connect each student
with a mentor who can advise them as they
research their paper and create a related
product. Not everyone is in a position to connect with a
student personally or meet face-to-face, but
that doesn’t mean you can’t get involved.

F4K can help!
Encouraging students to pursue their interests
and passions is what F4K Career Coaches do. In
addition to providing schools with tools for
managing Grad Projects, F4K can also provide students with virtual mentors, superseding
geography and social
connections.
F4K’s Career Coach discussion boards have been
approved as a viable mentoring option, and offer
the safety of conversations with background-checked Career
Coaches.
You can start investing
in the students of North Carolina now—just sign
up
here to be a Career Coach. What could be
easier and more rewarding than taking a few
minutes to give someone the gift of their
future?
